Peer Connections: A Remarkable Life After SCI
As a young adult, Wendy Murphy survived a serious car accident that left her with a spinal cord injury. She has carried on with a tenacious spirit, and her life and career choices have been anything but conventional. After she established herself as a sought-after model with a number of department stores and other high-profile advertisers, she moved on to commercial and acting roles.
Her biggest achievement was finding her place in front of the camera as a broadcast journalist for eight years with City TV.
Today, Wendy is a Health Coach at the University of Toronto. She guides people living with spinal cord injury with a focus on making healthy choices and sustaining a long-term health plan. With decades of experience living with a disability, Wendy is able to share her long-term knowledge. She finds it a fulfilling way to give back, to a community she fully understands and belongs to.
Wendy will be introducing her memoir ‘Wendy Murphy’s Law: Whatever Can Go Wrong Can Be Made Right’ and reading excerpts from her book.
