SCIO Employment Services Honoured with Helen Keller Centre Award
Our Employment Services team has been recognized for the work they do to support job seekers.
On September 18, 2018 the Canadian Helen Keller Centre (CHKC) presented SCIO’s Employment Services team with an award which honoured everything they do to assist people in the deaf/blind community who are embarking on a new career journey.
Lubna Aslam, Jenny Gilker and Richard McCallum represented the team by CHKC’s Annual General Meeting to receive the award.
The deaf/blind community is severely underrepresented in the workforce but our team worked hard to secure seasonal jobs for two individuals, with one of these people being offered a full-time position.
The CHKC is on a mission to empower the deaf/blind community through consumer driver services and opportunities that maximize independence.
Our Employment Services team acts as a liaison between employers and job seekers to help build perfect employment matches. We’re so proud that their hard work and determination has been acknowledged in this way.
