Chris Bourne, Regional Services Co-ordinator
Chris has been a wheelchair user since 1990. After completing a Masters degree in Recreation Management, he worked in the physical activity/disability sector and then started working with SCIO in 2012. In addition to more than a hundred local, provincial and national sports competitions, he has competed at 4 World Triathlon Championships and 3 World Disabled Water Ski Championships.
Angela Clair, Regional Services Co-ordinator
Angela was born and raised in Quebec and Northern Ontario and studied at the University of Ottawa. She has worked for over 28 years with people with disabilities with various organizations including the Children’s Aid Society, Ottawa Carleton School Board, and March of Dimes Canada. She has been with Spinal Cord Injury Ontario since 2007.
Brett Babcock, Peer Support Co-ordinator
Brett Babcock joined us in 2023 as the Peer Program Coordinator in Ottawa. Brett has a Bachelor of Health Psychology (Hons) and a minor in Disability Studies from Carleton University and is pursuing a Certificate of Rehabilitation Services at Seneca College. He has also worked as Program Coordinator at the Carleton Disability Awareness Centre. Brett has been an active Peer Mentor for close to 10 years.
Our Ottawa Region location supports people with spinal cord injury and family members living in the national capital region and rural areas east and west of Ottawa (from Hawkesbury to Cornwall to Pembroke and areas in between) with these direct services:
