SCIO is part of the E-Scooter Coalition, led by CNIB, which aims to ban e-scooters in Toronto. E-scooters have been known to cause injuries to pedestrians in cities where their use has been allowed, and they pose added risks for people with disabilities, including those with vision loss and those who use mobility devices to navigate the streets.
The coalition meets monthly and coordinates meetings with the City Council to address the risks of e-scooters.
Just say “Yes! Sign me up!” and you can improve accessibility in Ontario and help us serve, support and advocate for and with people with spinal cord injury and other disabilities.
