Board & Staff

Guiding our way

Discover the passionate individuals behind SCIO’s success. From our Board of Directors, Senior Leadership to our staff, we are proud to be guided by an experienced group of leaders in business, public policy, science, healthcare, law and communications who share a passion for increasing the access, resources, and funding needed to fully participate and thrive, devoted to making our mission a reality. Their collective efforts drive our organization forward, making a significant impact on the community we serve and beyond.

Setting our sights high

It’s important that SCIO is as effective and efficient as possible, and that Ontarians know who we are and what we do. Dr. Stuart Howe and the leadership team are enthusiastically committed to making this happen, and they’re not alone. All our professional staff share valuable expertise across the province every day to help clients meet their goals. And our entire community – clients, volunteers, donors and partners – form a strong, sustainable foundation, securing our place as Ontario’s leader in SCI support, service and advocacy.

A message from our CEO

Dr. Stuart Howe

I could not be more proud of the people I work alongside. Our volunteers are second to none in their commitment to our clients and their families. Our supporters – whether they donate online, attend an event or get their whole company behind our work – have an enormous impact on our work. And our staff go above and beyond, every day. We are always moving forward, working to high standards, and for good reason. Every day, someone sustains a spinal cord injury in Ontario. We need to be here for them, just as we are for the 36,000 living with an SCI across the province. I am honoured to be among this vibrant community and I greatly appreciate your valuable, ongoing support.
