Volunteering at SCIO

“Volunteering is an act of heroism on a grand scale. And it matters profoundly. It does more than help people beat the odds; it changes the odds.”
                                                                                         – William J. Clinton

Our volunteers matter

Volunteering for Spinal Cord Injury Ontario has a real impact. Our volunteers support all aspects of our work. From program delivery to fundraising and event support, administration, content development and advocacy. Whatever your skills, abilities, or availability, there’s a way for you to help out and make a difference. When you volunteer with us, you become part of our mission, working together to support people living with spinal cord injury and mobility disability.

“Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.”
Helen Keller

Our Volunteers Rock!

We’re fiercely dedicated to providing life-changing and life-long resources to people with SCI and their families, and we succeed with a little help from our friends.

Volunteers are at the core of all we do. This caring group of people, who generously contribute their time and talents to so many of our programs, are an integral part of our community. Thanks to our volunteers, we reach more people and ensure effective support for anyone who would like it.

So many ways to help

As a volunteer for SCIO you have a profound impact on peoples’ lives by helping us advance towards our vision of a fully inclusive and accessible Ontario. We are fortunate to have a diverse group of people at work for us in a number of capacities. As a charity that makes every dollar count, having volunteers share their high level of skill with us makes an important difference to our bottom line and our ability to serve our community well.

There are lots of opportunities available for people who’d like to play a key role in our work:

Volunteers might choose a role with a very specific time frame or one that is ongoing. We’d be privileged to have you on board and are happy to create a schedule that suits you.
